I find myself drawing towards abstract imagery. I feel that it gives the viewer more freedom to participate, to respond to the images in a very personal and intimate way. The viewer is free to bring to the images what they may whether it be through association, emotional experiences, or personal history in that moment of interaction. Communication is always at risk of ambiguity in the arena of deep and raw emotion. There are even times in our lives when we just don't have the words. Instead, we have the swirling, the rising, the falling and failing of all the words we've learned in our lifetimes. We may as well be sending out smoke signals.
